The Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA) was proud to support and help bring to life the CANS Construction Job Fair. On February 8, 2024, over 900 job seekers attended the one-day event in Halifax and connected with more than 25 employers in the construction industry.

NSAA Industry Training Consultants engaged attendees on-site and spoke to newcomers and job seekers about getting certified in a trade, how apprenticeship works, benefits of registering as an apprentice, getting credit for prior work experience, and financial supports available.

"We were thrilled to support this important event from the Construction Association of Nova Scotia to help get more people into the construction trades," said Michelle Bussey, NSAA CEO. "The skilled trades are a well-paying and exciting career choice, and the government is committed to increasing the workforce and supporting people entering the trades. The extensive turnout for this event is a testament to Nova Scotians’ appetite for developing their skills and careers as our province grows."
