Diversity and Inclusion Framework

The Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA) is committed to improving diversity and inclusion in the Apprenticeship system by:

  • Raising awareness of apprenticeship opportunities for participants from diverse communities
  • Reducing barriers to apprenticeship and trade certification; enhancing employer and individuals' supports
  • Creating partnerships for diversity and inclusion
  • Encouraging apprenticeship employers to hire individuals from diverse groups, such as:

The diversity framework, Building More Equitable Pathways, is complete and Phase II is now underway. Under Phase II, the Agency’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (DIAC) was established (12 members, including 4 NSAA staff and 2 NSAA Board members) to offer recommendations on implementing the Framework.
