
Building a Workplace Where People Want to Stay
Foundations of Belonging in the Workplace is a free learning program designed for Nova Scotia's skilled trades sector. The program equips employers, supervisors, journeypersons, apprentices, and workplace partners with practical strategies to create welcoming, inclusive, and productive workplaces. A respectful workplace is a safe workplace where employees feel valued, empowered, and treated fairly. It fosters proactive conflict resolution, reduces stress, strengthens communication and teamwork, and ultimately improves productivity.

This blended learning program combines flexible online learning with live peer discussions focused on real workplace situations.
What You'll Get
11 Self-Paced Online Modules (8 Hours Total)
- Complete at your own pace over 5 to 6 months.
- Based on real Nova Scotia workplace and job-site scenarios.
- Focused on practical skills you can apply immediately.
2 Live Virtual Debriefs (2 Hours Each)
- Facilitated peer discussions in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
- Opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and build confidence navigating workplace challenges.
No Cost
Free for employers, supervisors, journeypersons, apprentices, instructors, administrative staff, and trades organizations across Nova Scotia. This program is brought to you by the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency and funded by the Government of Canada.
