A representative of a group or association within a trade or occupation can apply through the provincial Apprenticeship Board to designate a trade under the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act. The applicant needs to contact the Board Administrator within the division to receive the application form.
Once the application has been completed and submitted to the Administrator, the Board will review it and may establish a committee to consult with industry. The Board will respond to the application and make a recommendation to the Minister, who has the authority to designate the trade by an order.
